Every Hindu must know #Ayodhya

Know something about #Ayodhya that we (including me) didn't know till now.  This is information that every Hindu must know.

Let us know about KK Nair who was a key factor in bringing us the birth place of Sri Rama in Ayodhya.

Kandangalam Karunakaran Nair known as K.K.Nair was born on September 7, 1907 in Gutankadu, a small village in Alappuzha, Kerala.  Before India's independence, he went to England to become a barrister at the age of 21 and passed the ICS examination before returning home.

He worked in Kerala for some time and was known for his honesty.  He showed bravery and earned a reputation as a servant of the people.

In 1945, he joined the Uttar Pradesh state as a civil servant.  He has served in various capacities.  Appointed Deputy Commissioner and District Magistrate of Faizabad on 1st June 1949.
The then Prime Minister Nehru ordered the Uttar Pradesh state government to conduct an inquiry and submit a report after receiving a complaint about the sudden appearance of the idol of Lord Rama in the Ayodhya temple.  When the then Chief Minister of the state, Govind Vallabh Pant, asked KK Nair to go there and investigate, KK Nair asked his subordinate, Mr. Gurdutt Singh, to investigate and submit a report.

Singh went there and gave a comprehensive report to KK Nair.  His report informed that Hindus worship Ayodhya as the birthplace of Lord Rama (Ram Lalla) and that it is a mosque and Muslims are creating problems there but it is a Hindu temple.  He also suggested that a big temple should be built there.  He stated in the report that the government should allocate land for it and ban Muslims from going to that area to avoid any clashes.

Based on that report, Nair issued an order banning Muslims from going within 500 meters of the temple.  (It is noteworthy that neither the government nor the court has been able to lift this ban so far).

Hearing this, Nehru became irritated and angry and asked the state government to immediately evacuate the Hindus from the area and remove Ram Lalla.

On Nehru's orders, Chief Minister Govind Vallabh Pant ordered Nair to immediately evacuate the Hindus and remove the statue of Ram Lalla.

But Nair refused to implement those orders and on the other hand issued another order to perform daily puja to Rama Lalla and ordered that the government should bear the cost of the puja and the salary of the priest who performed the puja.

Frightened by this order, Nehru immediately ordered Nair's removal from the post. However, Nair went to the Allahabad court and pleaded his case and won against Nehru's eviction order. The court directed that Nair be reinstated and allowed to work at the same place. The court's order hit Nehru like a slap in the face.

In these circumstances, the people of Ayodhya asked Nair to contest the elections. But when Nair said that he, being a government employee, could not contest in the election, the people of Ayodhya asked him to contest at least Nair's wife. Acknowledging the people's request, Mrs. Shakuntala Nair contested as a candidate in Ayodhya during the Uttar Pradesh Assembly elections.

At that time Congress candidates were successful all over the country but in Ayodhya Congress candidate Pi Nair's wife won with a huge majority.

Mrs. Shakuntala Nair joined the Janasangh in 1952 and started developing the organization. Surprised by this, Nehru and the Congress party put pressure on Nair, who resigned from his post and started working as a lawyer in the Allahabad High Court. When elections to Parliament were announced in 1967, the people succeeded in persuading Nair and his wife to contest. People helped Nair couple to win Bahraich and Kaiserganj constituencies. Theirs was a historic victory.
Shakuntala Nair has won one term as MLA and three times as MP
Ironically, Nair's reputation is such that even his driver was once elected as a member of the state legislature from the Faisalabad constituency.

Later, when the state of emergency was imposed in the country during Indira's rule, this couple was arrested and put in jail. But as their arrest caused a huge uproar in Ayodhya, the government immediately released them from jail.

The couple returned to Ayodhya and continued their public service. Nair solved the Ayodhya case for the first time after independence. It is completely managed by him. And still the anti-Hindus could not change the orders issued by him as an official.

Based on those orders issued by Nair, the pujas and Ram Lalla darshan are still going on.

In 1976, Mr. Nair wanted to return to his hometown. But the people did not allow him to go. But Nair bid farewell by telling people that he wanted to stay in his hometown in his last days.

On 7th September 1977 he reached Sri Ramachandramurthy Padaravinda in his native village. A team went to Kerala to receive his ashes. The ashes were paraded in a decorated chariot and immersed in the Sarayu river in Ayodhya, where Lord Rama bathed and worshiped the sun every day.

It is because of Nair's efforts that we are able to worship at the birthplace of Sri Rama in Ayodhya. It is no wonder that the people of Ayodhya regard him as a divine person.

For his work in Ayodhya, Vishwa Hindu Parishad bought land in his native village and built a memorial to him. The trust started in the name of K.K Nair provides scholarships and coaching to students appearing for the Civil Services Examination.

 Jai Shri Ram 🙏🙏🙏
